This year´s Körber award for European Science was granted on the 7th of September 2017 in the town hall of Hamburg. The award was endowed with 750.000€. This year´s award was earned by Karsten Danzmann, a physicist who made pioneering insights in the field of gravitation wave research.
The German physicist and his team developed key techniques, thereunder high-precision laser, with which detectors in America could prove gravitation waves directly for the first time in 2015.
The first governing mayor in Hamburg, Olaf Scholz, was on the ground and welcomed the guests.
Our Carl technique team was also on the ground and was responsible for the whole technique of this year´s award show.
We thank the Körber foundation for the professional collaboration; it was an outstanding event and a lot of fun to be part of it.
